Hydrocephalus is when you have extra cerebrospinal fluid "water" in or around the brain. Hydrocephalus can develop in babies and children because of many different reasons.

This is an explanation of craniosynostosis and plagiocephaly. We see thousands of infants with plagiocephaly and craniosynostosis at the NJ Craniofacial Center. Some babies may require surgery, while others may benefit from helmet therapy or just physical therapy and tummy time.

Babies with coronal craniosynostosis may be treated through an open surgery, or endoscopically. When synostosis of the coronal sutures develop, there is abnormal development of the infant's skull and face

Endoscopic craniosynostosis surgery is performed for infants with synostosis, or fusion, of a cranial or skull suture. Dr. Catherine Mazzola cares for hundreds of infants with craniosynostosis, plagiocephaly and torticollis, together with her colleagues at NJ Pediatric Neuroscience Institute.
