What is Pediatric Endocrinology?

Pediatric Endocrinology is a specialized medical field that focuses on diagnosing and treating endocrine disorders in children and adolescents. An endocrine disorder is a condition that affects the body’s hormones or the way the body uses hormones. Endocrine disorders can cause a variety of symptoms, such as growth problems, delayed puberty, and problems with metabolism. Pediatric endocrinologists are experts in diagnosing and treating these disorders.
