Sara Scheid, MD FAAP

Dr. Scheid is a board-certified otolaryngologist who offers care for a wide range of ear, nose, and throat conditions, including sinusitis, ear infections, nasal obstruction and allergy, tonsil and throat illness, chronic ear disease, thyroid and parathyroid disease, voice and swallowing problems, and snoring and sleep apnea. Dr. Scheid has also dedicated a large portion of her career to treating children. “I feel so fortunate to have a career that I love,” shares Dr. Scheid. “While I enjoy the variety of being able to practice all aspects of ENT and seeing both adults and children, I take my greatest pleasure in helping kids. I realized early on in my training that children brighten my day.”

Dr. Scheid completed her undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College before attending Rush Medical School, where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her residency in otolaryngology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, where she gained extensive experience in all areas of head and neck surgery. Upon completion of her residency training, Dr. Scheid accepted a fellowship in pediatric ENT at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where she expanded on her knowledge of pediatric disorders of the head and neck. During her tenure at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Dr. Scheid was also appointed to the faculty of Drexel Medical College. After competing her fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology, Dr. Scheid practiced ENT in Albany, NY, where she was the founder and managing partner of a private ENT practice and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Albany Medical College.

While practicing otolaryngology, Dr. Scheid realized that there was need for pediatric sleep specialists, so she pursued additional training and certification in sleep medicine. Dr. Scheid was one of the leading experts in pediatric sleep medicine in Upstate NY.

She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology, a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
